Two Down, Four To Go

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Our molder has completed the runs on two of six parts. The Friday third shift was scheduled to set up the 3rd mold to begin the run Monday 5-17-10. It seems to be taking two days to run the parts per mold. Some of the inserting is able to be done between cycles which will help save time in the long run. The jigs for the final 2 molds are well on their way to completion.

Production Starting This Monday 5-10-10

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The meeting we had with our molder this past Monday was very productive. We determined what kind of jigs we will need to correct the initial cooling issues of two of the parts. Our molder believes the jigs should be done by the first part of this coming week. It was confirmed today that the material for our first run will be in house this Friday 5-7-10. Tomorrow (Thurs.) our molder is beginning a third shift which will enable our molds, that don’t require jigs, to begin to be run Monday morning. To be clear, all of the molds will not be run on Monday morning. This process will take several days. We will have a better idea of how long this process will take after the first day or two. After the parts are produced, several of the parts will require inserts. Once completed, we will have to get the parts to our shop where the final bit of assembly and packaging will take place. We are getting very close to our final count down before shipping starts, which will end our 25% discount and 2 free accessories offer. Please refer to our earlier posts regarding any shipping questions.

Preliminary Runs Completed Today!

Friday, April 30th, 2010

It took our molder one day longer than expected, but everything looks great. We are meeting with our molder first thing Monday morning in order to expedite the building/completion of the jigs. Our molder has informed us that the material for our first run should arrive within a week. We hope to have a date when production will start very soon. Please read our other posts further down to see our shipping process for pre-sales. We know this has been a long journey for many of you. We really appreciate your patience. We are very close!

Preliminary Update #2 4-22-10

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

We were very disappointed to find out that our molder failed to meet the agreed upon schedule that we were given. We had a heart to heart with the owner on Tuesday and he had an in-house meeting with all the employees on what his expectations are for our job. Fortunately, the delay had nothing to do with our tooling, it was a couple of in-house issues. The owner was apologetic and renewed his commitment to stick with the new schedule. As of today, they have completed three of the molds and will complete the rest of the preliminary runs by Wednesday morning 4-28-10. Their words-not ours. We are talking with them daily to stay up to date with the progress. It has been confirmed that we will indeed need to have several jigs built to ensure the upper rear housing keeps its proper shape during the initial cooling process.

We recommend potential customers new to this site read our last couple of posts on our “Latest News”. We discuss the two accessories we are including in the kit as a thank you for your support and patience, as we work to bring you an affordable, effective stock.

Preliminary Run Update

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Here is a break down of what is currently taking place at the manufacturer during the preliminary run:

The tooling is mechanically hoisted up by a trollie crane and secured to the machine by several dozen very large bolts. This process alone takes a couple hours for each mold (the stock kit consists of six molds).

Our molder works to tweak the factory provided set points for the temperature of the molds and the cycling intervals for optimum quality.

There are also two parts which will require jigs to be sure the form is not warped after coming off the line.

They felt confident that by the end of this week they would be able to have the preliminary runs completed.

Preliminary run this Monday 4-12-10

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

We are still taking pre-orders for our SKS Bullpup Stock kit that will include a front tri-rail mount and an extended magazine release lever (a quick thumb release for detachable magazines). These accessories are included in the kits as a thank you for remaining dedicated to this whole pre-sale process. These two accessories will not be included in orders placed after our pre-sale ends.

This Monday our molder will begin a preliminary run to work our tooling temperatures and cycling rates to prevent warpage.

Manufacturer Has Received Tooling/Costa Mesa Gun Show

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Today, our long awaited tooling arrived at our molder’s facilities! We have not been given a date when our first run will occur but are hopeful that we will be able to begin shipping around the first week of April, or so. Tomorrow they will start to remove the protective coating, put there to prevent rust from occurring. They will lubricate the moving parts and treat the molds to aid in parts removal.

We will be shipping to all our pre-sale customers before any delivery of retail sales, either from our store page or gun shows, occur. The kits will be shipped according to purchase date, starting with the first month’s orders in July ’09. We feel that we will be able to process 100 kits per week.

In a few days we should be able to post the date when our pre-sale price of $119.96 ends. We hope to give around a week to ten days notice. We will also announce which month orders we are processing and will send a tracking number once we have processed each order. A signature will be required upon delivery.

We will be at the Costa Mesa Show this weekend on March 27 & March 28.

Updates will continue via our website and our Facebook fan page.

Tooling Is Now In The Port of Long Beach!

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

We got confirmation today that our tooling came into port earlier this morning.

We will be honoring our pre-sale customers first before any stocks are sold to our retail customers via our store page or gun shows. They will be shipped according to purchase date, starting with the first month’s orders in July ’09. We feel that we will be able to process 100 kits per week. We will announce when shipping will begin and when the $119.96 will no longer be available. We will also announce which month orders we are processing and will also send a tracking number once we have processed each order.

Updates will continue via our website and our facebook fan page.

We’re getting close!
