Here is a link to our last update: http://sgworks.com/update-8-23-11/
As was mentioned toward the end of our last post, we are very close to having everything in proper order regarding the proper funding for SGWorks. We had to slow down our shipping in order to pay for various fees and costs. This in turn caused us to fall short of our last posted shipping projection. We are still shipping, albeit slower than we were.
We hope before long to have all of the necessary information in order to post a revised shipping projection. At that point we will be able to catch up with our back orders as well as other projects.
We really appreciate you hanging in there with us very much.
I love my new stock set. . .well worth the wait. . .it’s quite the tackdriver now.
Great product. . .I read about the continued delays but don’t give up. . .and someday consider a kit for AKs I’d be willing to wait another year for one of those.

Regretfully, we have had to slow down on our shipping.
We received many more presales than we ever expected. And on top of the additional costs of the stock, which are now accounted for in the stock kit price, the labor cost of working to rapidly fulfill our back-orders far out paced the number of orders coming in. Additionally, we were opposed to advertising with such a long wait, neither could we develop our dealership program until we fulfilled our existing back orders.
Early on we were involved in preliminary talks which would have provided the finances necessary to carry SGWorks to a position of positive cash flow. Our inexperience in how these matters work, allowed us to believe our search was over and that in several weeks all the details would be taken care of and all would be well. The weeks turned into more weeks and before we knew it, months had gone by.
We finally realized we need to be moving forward in several directions until the goal is reached, no matter what we are being told. The deal is never done until the deal is done.
We are now moving forward toward completing the final details for proper financing. We’ve been heading toward this end for a while, and it was with the information we had regarding how long it would take, that we based our new shipping schedule. Unfortunately, like everything else we’ve done, we underestimated the time it would actually take for the process to be completed. The plan was to reduce shipping volume, in order to finance the various expenses involved in acquiring funding and afterwards we would increase the volume of assembly and shipping. We estimated within three months or so, we would catch up with our back orders as well as be well on our way with our next project.
We realize this has been a very rough ride for everyone involved. Being less than a small business, with the word “Gun” in our name, as well as working stiffs to boot, no one would touch us regarding financing in the traditional sense. The question became, can ordinary Americans with a dream, still build a business from nothing.
We are very sorry for the delay. We realize it is very disappointing. We also want you to know, we did not come this far from where we began to give up and quit. We have a dream of really making a difference in this country. If you ordered a stock(s), you will receive them. As our policy has always been, should you need a refund for any reason, please let us know.
We are receiving a lot of emails from people who mistakenly believe we have stopped shipping. WE ARE STILL SHIPPING. The last week of July saw a very heavy volume of sales and the first week of August was even heavier. We expect to be through orders placed on August 4, 2010 within the next week. After which, we will begin working on orders placed on the 5th.
For the record, we are running behind where we thought we would be by this time regarding shipping. Over the past week or so we have meticulously gone through our records and have created a “to be shipped chart”. This chart represents our best calculations. The chart follows:
Orders placed through: Should ship on or before:
8/31/10 8/15/11
10/31/10 8/22/11
11/31/10 8/29/11
12/31/10 9/5/11
2/28/11 9/12/11
3/31/11 9/19/11
5/31/11 9/26/11
6/31/11 10/10/11
If your month is not listed, it is because order volume for that month was low and processing will go quicker.
If everything goes according to plan, we should be completely caught up with current orders sometime in October. We expect to begin advertising a few weeks before that time as well as begin filling orders for our distributors.
On another note, the rumor of sgworks.com domain being up for sale is absolutely, positively false. The report we received from Go Daddy explained the domain name was part of an auction list that had never been cancelled after we purchased it in 2009. David Reedy, our webmaster, of drdezign.com still has both of his numbers operational and appreciates the advertising he has received. J
Finally, we understand how frustrating it is to email and call a company and receive no response. We have be getting so many calls and emails and have found it is much faster for us to respond to phone calls with an email, which is what we are doing. Still, we have a ways to go before getting caught up with all of the phone calls and emails that have been coming in the last couple of weeks. Please bear with us, it may take a little bit but we will eventually respond to your inquiry. Thanks for your patience.
This one snuck by us! SGW

I was one of the customers that believed in your dream to build this amazing stock. I paid for my stock almost a year before I actually received it and was very patient during the set backs and so forth. Anyway i really wanted to thank you again and also wanted to share my picture of my SKS I painted it with a desert camouflage design and it turned out perfect I just had to send you guys a picture of it. I am always very proud to show off your bullpup stock to my family friends and at the range.
